New Thoughts

I missed posting yesterday - battling an allergic reaction of my own and doing some scriptwriting when I can squeeze it in. Happy to be blogging tonight. Coleman and I are in our usual spots - he's defeating villains on the Wii and I'm holding up the laptop.

This week we are going to take another look inside Coleman with bioenergetic screening. I always look forward to these and they continue to fascinate me as I watch him so carefully every day looking for the slightest change, the slightest progress, the slightest changing symptom, the slightest ray of hope. Sometimes I can almost guess what we'll find now that I have a better handle on the villains we're fighting in his body. It also helps to have such a good vantage point for watching this process.

I am also beginning a consult with an MD in Arizona who specializes in mycotoxins' effect on the brain. We are due to talk this week and I have some burning questions that should help rule out some things. I always feel like we're making some forward movement when we're trying new approaches, meds or experienced opinions. We could use some forward movement to jump start us again.

Spencer is improving quickly again. He continues to get a hand full (no pun intended) of "cold chills" down his hands a day. He always comes running to tell me and shows me how he can move his hands normally right after they happen. We are adding new remedies to his regimen on Friday as well and I'm waiting every day for him to pick up that pencil and write again. I laughed the other night when we had a sketch book and he jumped up to say he had the cold chill. I told him to draw quickly. He drew a nose and an eyebrow. It let me know that all systems are go in there and I could tell by the look on his face that he felt that too. He was thrilled to say the least. He is also coming back so strong on his schoolwork. He wants to do extra work each day to catch up and avoid a summer's worth of work.

From John today:
I will talk to the Father and He'll provide you another Friend so that you'll always have someone with you. This friend is the Spirit of Truth.

We have felt that Friend in these parts.

And today I realized that I left out a thanks to a fine friend and mother who gave up some of her time on Saturday to wheel and deal and that's Renee. Sorry to have left you off the list, here's a special shout out to you. I so miss your oldest child running through my house!

Still Working

Today was a great day for Spencer. He really made some strides with his schoolwork. He called me so excited because he was able to do some math again. He's still having more of these "cold chills" that run down his hands. After they happen, he has normal hand movement for a few seconds. He had one tonight when I was having him try to sketch and for a few seconds he started to draw like his old self. The best part is that it really gets him so excited. Seeing him so happy is contagious for me.

Coleman and I held the fort down today. We had a visit from Ms. Becky and he wanted to show her how high he can jump now. I've been doing some more research on some of Coleman's co-infections - trying to line up some phone consults with docs who know mold illness and the co-infections. I'm hoping this is a way to move us off the plateau we are on.

Otherwise, we're working on the physical progress and the protocol. Working through one day at a time, my boy and me.

Like the song starts, I need a sign to let me know you're here...I have looked for signs at every turn during this illness and they seem to come just when I need them most. Like my friend Jen feeding the words back to me that she said I told her over 10 years ago, "God never gives you more than you can handle." They sound good falling back on my ears. And the sign of just turning on the radio after a big day and hearing a song that makes me eternally grateful for my angel friends here on earth!

Post Yard Sale High

I have a special post of thanks to make for the amazing duo that put together this yard sale for us.

Rana and Connie - what you guys have done has been the biggest uplift for me personally and for our family. You put your all into this and it meant the world.

And then to the faithful wrecking crew: Mom, Dad, Loren, Marna, Jody, Brent, Greg, Dave, Anne, Joe, Cherryl, Gabbi, Val, Tracey, you all missed soccer games, rushed back from family events, dodged the rain, took home a farmer's tan, negotiated with the best of them and gave us your time, the greatest gift of all.

I came home and got in the floor with the boys to count the loot. How often can you bring home over $2,000 from a yard sale? This was one of those days and it will be put to good use.

Then we came home to be gifted with dinner. Much gratitude to Chuck and Dawn for co-cooking a perfect summer meal and breakfast to boot. You guys put the icing on today's cake.

Coleman was so happy when I got home and wanted to know all about the yard sale. He loved looking at the pictures and was honored. The first thing he asked me was whether this money would help me with my work. My answer was a simple yes.

I have some great pictures and so many words of thanks to post, but it will have to be tomorrow because I'm so whipped. Tune in then for all the behind the scenes work!
