MCV ER attending physician did some blood work, white cell count is good. Neurologist looked him over, there are things she does not like, we are scheduled to do a work up with her this Friday (13th) right after we see the MCV GI doc. Coleman was not admitted, the attending doc talked with Dr. Schmidt and Koch via phone, who both agreed he should wait at home. There are no beds in the hospital either. Spencer did not return to school, too much coughing and there is apparently a flu epidemic on campus. They both have such sour stomachs and strong mouth odors. Coleman has his worst flare last night – lasted about ten minutes. The slightest thing sets him off, usually if he thinks we are “making fun of him.” (which we would never even approach doing) He is paranoid and sensitive and truly becomes someone else and then is so apologetic and completely needs our forgiveness. There is a HUGE neurological component to this and if this is a toxic illness affecting his brain, why do I feel like we’re sitting on our butts?
We have a wheelchair as of today and Jeff had to carry Coleman up the stairs and to his bed.
