If you can't get out in the snow, we'll bring it to you. We enjoyed waking up to the oddest big snowfall in Richmond in some time. Today marks three weeks since Coleman has stood or walked so not being able to enjoy the snow is tough for him. But never fear, Spen and Dad will bring it to you. The photo is Coleman's view out the window today and Spen brought Coleman a bowl of snow.
Coleman seemed to be more stable today, seems like just being at home does him so much good. I left messages to schedule a phone consult with Dr. Shoemaker and had some good conversations with Albert (Dr. Jones to most) about how to create a better strategy for doc to doc communications as we move forward with the medical protocol.
Thank you to all the old friends who have surfaced from our past (and present) to post notes of encouragement. Please know that it means the world to us just to know that we're not working through this alone. This is one of those odd situations where people who want to do hands on things are at a loss because we're so tightly closed in. The fact that you care helps us and this is one of those times when petitioning God on our behalf is worth more than anything delivered or spoken.
Hey Mel Just sent u an email. Read and give me a call xoxoxoxox
ReplyDeleteMel, Jeff and boys,
ReplyDeleteYou know that we love you all more than words can express! We have followed your blog each day (and several times a day) so that we can pray more specifically. Our fervent prayers are for strength and wisdom for each day, for the right doctors and treatment and for complete healing for your wonderful boys. Each time I look at all the photos I smile - you have done a great job of keeping us up to date even when you were emotionally, physically and mentally exhausted. Coleman and Spencer are precious in our sight, and in God's!
I pray, too, for your parents and Jeff's as they are dear to us and we know they are hurting. Please let me know if you think of a way that I can minister to them.
I won't call as I know you need to focus on the family but you know that we are here for anything at all that we can do.
The picture today of the snowman Jeff and Spence made for Coleman was priceless - lots of love being shared among you!
Joy and I are in Florida for the weeek, but you are never out of our minds and prayers.
ReplyDeleteLove all four of you. And yes, with Anne above, thanks for this blog service you've established.
Hey Mel & Jeff:
ReplyDeleteI continue to think about you guys and pray for you all. I'm glad Coleman and Spencer are hanging in there but know that it is difficult. I sent the new blog to my brother and sister-in-law who remember Coleman from several years ago at Red Robin for my birthday when Jeff brought him, and then again from last year's party. Being anti-children as they are, they don't normally have the tolerance for children, but refer to Coleman fondly as "that polite, well-behaved, angelic child!" and say that if they ever do have a child, they hope that he will be exactly like Coleman (praise indeed)! My mom sends her well-wishes as well and keeps you all in her prayers. I feel rather helpless as I wish there were something I could do. Thanks for putting up the blog. It's a great idea.
Hey Mel. Virginia Bertholet sent word of your ordeal. I am so completely sorry for everything that you and your boys are going through. I read every entry of your blog and cried all the way through. With 3 boys, I can't imagine how you are getting through it.
ReplyDeleteCan I bring you dinner? Virginia, Kerry Berkbigler and I would like to do something for you. Send me an email - rogerscbtjn@yahoo.com. We would love to help you out in some small way.
Mel,
ReplyDeleteI have found a specialist in this field who is "connected internationally with alternative docs and treatments", through a doctor who's an old friend of Paul's and mine. We have his contact info and you can use our friend's name - and he'll help push along if you need to.
E-mail me at vabertholet@comcast.net or call 233-7272. I can't seem to get through your e-mail.
LOVE YOU and thinking of you all. va
