Still Digging

I'm not sure how we would deal with this illness if it wasn't for the internet. I spent a lot of time last night continuing to dig. If we are dealing with two things in Coleman's case (and potentially Spencer's case) the question is what might the second be?

There is another doctor in Florida that also specializes in mold illnesses with a particular focus in Lyme's and "cousins" of Lyme's. I found his site and did a lot of reading. He and I have been exchanging emails today and will hopefully be talking via phone this evening.

Bartonella is associated with Lyme's and I have a lot more to learn about it, but the symptoms do line up. The one thing that really struck me was all the photos I saw on-line of the physical clues this illness can leave. Today I photographed some marks on the tops of Coleman's hips that showed up during this illness sometime in January. I emailed them to the doctor and he doesn't seem to have any doubts. It's times like these we wonder if we're going down another rabbit trail or about to get to the bottom of something. Then there's the issue of coordinating the care through the docs, which can be tough. Hopefully I'll get some good information tonight.

Spencer hasn't drawn or written in four days and also stopped watching TV or computer screens because he says its makes him dizzy and makes his eyes burn. He's been a bit bored as a result and is trying to find new things to do. He's visiting aunt Cherryl's dogs this evening. Speaking of the little guy, we have been doing some reading about bio-cleanse via infared spa and foot wash detox. My mom found a place that does the footwash treatment right near our home so Spen, Mom and I took a test run. We didn't know what to expect, but clearly Spencer's water was absolutely full of metals and brown sludge.

The photo here actually started with clean, clear water. This is a very interesting process that can't hurt. We know the boys have toxins, this should be another way to rid the body of toxins along with the meds. We hope to be able to try this on Coleman at home.

We just keep moving forward with our eyes and hearts open! Coleman has been about the same today - honestly I don't know how this child lives on the same couch and then moves to the same bed day after day. I really pray that soon life will take a turn for him. If he couldn't watch TV or play video games, I think he would be totally lost. At least Spencer is still getting around. Soon we'll have to put these two boys together to make one.

Happy Saturday, I'll update after the next phone call. Mel

  1. Hi Mel, you know, last time I read your blog and posted on it, I did not fully take in that Spencer is very sick also. And this photo....!!! I can't imagine that this water started out clear! That is amazing and hopefully it will be of benefit to both boys. We continue to think about you all alot and will pray for a miracle(s) to get your boys well. Good luck with all your doctors and hopefully they will come up with something definitive soon!

  2. Dear Mel and Jeff,
We continue to pray often for all of you --- not just daily --- and we weep with you in frustration and anguish. That's okay. Jesus wept. But we trust, as you do, that God has a reason for this and that He's fully in control. Give thanks in all circumstances. I Thess. 5:16-18 We love you all! Steve and Keallie
