Sunday AM

Wow, I can't believe I forgot to post yesterday. Could that be a good sign? Jeff was home so I was able to go out of the house and run errands - it felt so wonderful and I finally am able to worry less when I leave the house. Jeff's parting words to me were, "take your time." The weather was so awesome and I was surprised how much I was able to soak in the simple pleasures. The only snag was everywhere I went I would think about how much Coleman loved to go there. He loves the open air malls and has always loved being around people. The truth is that when it comes down to it, I feel guilty when I enjoy the simple pleasures that he can not.

I look forward to the day when he is able and wants to be around people again. He was always such a social critter and got his energy from being around other people, I miss seeing that side of him and will welcome it back with open arms and an open front door for his friends' return.

We literally watched the tree in our front yard bloom the other day and it occurred to me that we've watched three seasons come and go outside our window since this all started last fall. This all started when we were clearing the fall leaves, then we had that big snow piled on the window and now we're watching the trees bloom. Coleman is getting really frustrated with being off his feet and I'm hoping it will help spur him on to work toward little goals one at a time.

Coleman was doing some crunches in bed yesterday and then was holding himself up on all fours - so good to see. We ended the day with a fine meal from Anne - thanks for the homemades and the delivery! It's Sunday AM and I miss being in church, it will be wonderfully strange to go back. We're off to a round of exercises!

  1. Mike and I have been following the boys' progress eagerly, and we're so glad for the recent improvements. I'd like to offer to come read to Coleman and/or Spencer for an hour or so at a time if/when they are interested. I can suggest Dinotopia or the book Princess Bride is based on, but I'd be willing to read anything. Maybe they have a book they should be reading for school? I won't be offended if the timing isn't right, or they're not interested. But I feel led to offer. We care about you all and are praying for you daily. Fondly, Linda Pagel
