For the Sake of Others

I've been having thoughts and conversations with other "mold mothers" via the internet. It is starting to occur to me and us that when the time is right we need to combine our efforts and provide some accessible answers for people and parents who have nothing but questions.

Several people have emailed me to ask how they can be aware and how they can protect their family and how they can find out if they are facing mold illness. If we mothers are able and willing to come together to make some answers public, perhaps we will. I personally feel like I'm still so early in this long process that I have more learning to do as we make it over the big hurdles.

One thing is for sure, this is a real issue that is largely misunderstood and again I will say that it's easy to dismiss it until it comes calling at your door. It is worth careful thought.

Coleman had a good day. We are still at our plateau but were talking today about his small accomplishments that are so important. He can walk down to the bottom of the yard and back on his own now. He is beginning - truly just beginning to be able for me to touch him. I think it will take a while, but I can tell his response to touch is changing. Sometimes it's the little milestones that are the most important.

Thanks Sybil for the impromptu chili - it 's in good hands here!

Coleman was just telling me that God can triumph over anything and I believe he is right.

  1. When I read about your boys (and the rest of your children) it breaks my heart. I know how it feels bc I live it. Thankfully my children are mostly well, but still have issues- esp upon exposure- at school! I know the are primed for life.
I cannot homeschool them anymore bc I took the brunt of the mold in my house. Yet, after reading about your children, it makes me thankful.
I am glad to hear that for some of you people are kind and supportive. For all the others I speak to personally, even our own families think we are crazy. This just adds so much weight to the cross. Yet it brings us closer to our Lord, sharing in His humiliation and abandonment.

I believe education it the key- for improving schools indoor air quality, prevention in homes, and support for mold victims. Dr. Shoemaker's work, and Dr. James Schaller are probably some of the best weapons bc they are studies, labwork- tangible evidence that people cannot argue.
Biopsies for tricothecenes are helpful as well.
The truth will prevail one day. NO controversial truth ever came easily to light. Ie Christianity, abolition, Civil Rights
