We have all our research and hope in Dr. Shoemaker. Coleman once again is very negative about another doctor and knows he has to have his blood drawn at the visit. He also is getting Spencer’s cold – fever that we have all four had. He is trying to be accommodating but its taking every fiber in his being, plus a sedative and Dramamine. The appointment started out well. Dr. Shoemaker was uncovering some things in Coleman’s 5 year medical history that would potentially act as markers for inflammation making him more susceptible to mold illness. These include a bad tick bite when Coleman was 6 that was potentially Lyme disease, as well as 15 hornet stings that sent him to ER last summer. He also noted iron in Coleman’s lung lavage and said this had to have meant some bleeding in the lungs. Before this, we had been told all of Coleman’s tests, labs and cultures were “negative.” When it came time to draw blood, Coleman truly lost control and we had to cut our visit short. They were able to get the blood and we left with Cholestyramine, the cholesterol medicine that Dr. Shoemaker uses to bind the toxins in the body and flush them down the toilet. He said that if Coleman has a toxic illness, (he clearly thinks he does) he would begin to feel better in a week. We will have Coleman’s labs back in two weeks.
