We’re back home giving this medicine about 4 days to give us any ray of hope. The powder based drink makes Coleman gag so badly that he can’t get through taking it. He is supposed to take it 4 times a day. Dr. Shoemaker said he can take WhelChol, a tablet which isn’t as strong, but still effective. Starting today (20th) we are going to take one WhelChol tablet at a time and work up to 6 a day. He is dealing with the cold, but its not helping matters. Spencer has also started the cholestyramine. Our thought is if this regimen doesn’t start to show signs of getting him better, we want to have him admitted to a well-respected children’s hospital to start over, or to work in tandem with Dr. Shoemaker.
Thank goodness for the Wii, because Coleman still plays it everyday - it keeps him occupied and keeps his hands moving. He and Spen have daily Wii battles.
