The Cox Detox

The thing about "toxic" mold illness is that its all about breathing in toxic mold spores - it's not about being allergic to mold, it's about being more susceptible to mold illness. It's apparently genetic, like eye color, long arms, cancer genes, etc.

The thing I think of so often is how our toxic mold exposure in some backwards way actually brought to the surface other physical issues that stayed below the surface or were masked with far too many prescriptions for allergy meds or other things. It's like once your immune system is assaulted so heavily, it finally gives up and says you win and everything you bring out of the closet wins. Then what you realize you are left with is toxins in your body. Toxins clogging up your liver, kidneys or spleen - toxins under your skin...hence the latest household word for us, detox. We detox using several methods and the process of ridding your body of something it doesn't want to carry feels good. Soon, you realize we all live, work and play around so many toxins that we hardly have a chance...pesticides, fragrances, household cleaners, mold and fumes. Now I suddenly sound like a card carrying go green mom and I guess by necessity, I am. I do know that our family will have to make these choices and the boys will have to learn to adopt this lifestyle because they will probably always be more susceptible than their room mates, coworkers or friends.

Spence and I did another bioclense footwash today, mine looked far more toxic than his, but they are always fun to do. Coleman actually jogged in place three times today using the Wii fit. I couldn't believe he could do that, but he's got a soft mat for walking and he gave me a run for my money...literally. He is now my official trainer in the in home version of getting in shape. He picks the exercises and puts me through the paces - he said "See Mom, you don't need to go to the gym to get in shape."

Jessica, the only person that gives Jeff a run for his cynical money, thanks for dinner, who knew you could cook? We are glad you did! Wangee

Last night before we fell asleep Spencer told me he was looking forward to heaven, when I asked him why, he said because we wouldn't have any of this sickness there. He's the quiet one that keeps things in, so it touches the deepest part of me when he shares those thoughts. In reality he's had a stomach ache for five months, he coughed for 15 weeks and now he can't do his favorite thing, draw. But the good news is, he's showing great signs and we talked last night about how when he is able to draw again he has decided he is going to indeed be an artist for his life's work and he's going to be sure to draw some "God stuff." I'm just wondering what that looks like, so I just asked him and he said everything in heaven is what you want so he's going to draw angels worshipping God, a huge picture of Jesus' life, and ...pizza.
