That's what I'm watching Coleman do as we speak...on the Wii that is. Becky, our Physical Therapist came to the house for the second time today. Coleman had been talking about going outside and that he did for the first time in at least 8 weeks. It really lifted his spirits to be in the sunshine.
He and Becky threw the ball and she had him on his feet for 15 straight minutes. That was so awesome to see and you can't imagine how pleased he was when she said we needed to buy the Wii Fit for his therapy. So tonight I'm posting late because I have been snow skiing and wrecking all over the place. I can see where the balance board will be great for his leg strength...and yes, maybe even my sedentary side.
We're still working carefully with detoxing especially these days, it's just slow steady, careful work. The physical part will be back in place well before the cognitive and memory, but we see things little things come back to him each day and its always like a new discovery.
My folks are at the farm now and I have to admit I'm nervous when they're there. Jeff has plans for reworking some things in the basement and I'm hoping he can do that soon. He and I have now learned what a luxury it is to be able to just grab the keys, the kids and go. It will be a while before we take that for granted again.
Spen and I did some school work today and he worked much faster and seemed more focused today, or maybe more eager to be dismissed from his teacher...either way, he got his work done.
So from the top of the Bear Claw slope, Coleman and I bid you adieu.
