A couple of my long-time TV girlfriends talked to me a while back about wanting to do something in a corporate way for our family. Rana and Connie decided to create a yard sale. It was going to be in Connie's yard...that was until a number of kind people kept asking me how they could help. Next thing you know, we have a yard sale committee and it's grown out of Connie's yard. I guess you call this a "parking lot sale."
I have included a link to the flyer. I'm not one that feels comfortable asking people for favors or to help on our behalf but through this situation, I have learned that people truly want to demonstrate their support. I have always asked for prayer and have felt the true power of like minded people lifting Coleman and Spencer up. I continue to be grateful for your remembering us and now, I ask if you have some spring cleaning to do in your closets, please feel free to join us on May 16 or to bring a box or two from your attic before the sale.
If you have specific questions, you can email Rana (rmorse@parkgrp.com) or Connie (cjervey@comcast.net). They can get you in touch with one of the girl-friends who can answer your questions.
I'm looking forward to being there and maybe seeing some faces I have missed for so long!
Coleman saw his nurse today and she noted his heart rate has come down nicely and he's breathing stronger still. He enjoyed his visit with her and liked telling her about his birthday. Both she and the therapist brought him a gift and he was so grateful. Thanks to everyone who sent cards and shout outs, I have read all of them to him and they mean a lot. All that's left now is for me to talk helium to him before the balloons fall.
Sybil - supreme maker of Shepherd's Pie (half gone) and fine selector of verses:
He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us. We have plenty of hard times that come from following the Messiah, but no more so than the good times of his healing comfort—we get a full measure of that, too.
